New PB last night

No one seems interested on the Commuter site Bloody flat bar'd numpties  So I thought I'd post this here where the more discerning cyclists tend to hang out.
Anyway despite spending hardly any time on the bike for the last couple of months I managed a new PB on my way home last night: I hour 13 minutes :P My previous PB was around I hr 16
I reckon it was the lack of wind/rain, the sheer fact that I was on my bike and glad to be there and that Snickers bar I had just before I left the office

Your watch is probably broken!"There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0

Were you riding under exactly the same conditions?
I could do the same route 5 times and with traffic, weather etc, the time could be different every time.
Not to rain on your parade or anything...;-)0 -

The traffic was slightly lighter than usual, though not much. The ride is usually fairly consistant at around 1hr 20. Previous best was 1hr 16. Last night I felt good and by the time I had done around 10 miles I knew it was going to be a good time so I went for it and didn't ease off. Hence new PB 8)0 -

But you could lose 4 minutes quite easily with red lights n stuff.
Surely..0 -

The Garmin is on auto pause so when I stop at lights the timer stops. I lose time on the deccelaration and accelaration to and from the lights but in the main the times are very consistant.0 -
If you feel good, it's probably a tailwind.
See if you can repeat the sub76min time every day next week.Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0 -
My PB and PW for my commute are 0:56 and 1:35. Almost all down to the wind: the worst was a steady force 7-8 according to the local weather stations, almost exactly aligned against my average route direction - but then isn't it always...
The PB, on the other hand, I must just have been on form, of course...0 -

ahh, I see. I also have a Garmin but tend to just leave it running.
Fair play0 -

Set it to auto pause and try it out. I bet your times will be pretty consistent0
