Lightweight tyres and tubes

What would be a good lightweight tyre for roadwork with decent puncture protection. Also a good lightweight inner tube?

Depending on the condition of the roads you travel on - none or very few. Of course some tires and tubes are lighter than others but IMHO the so called "lightweight" stuff
is really only suitable for racing. Unless you like changing flats I would advise heavier tires for training and commuting. If you race get a set of wheels strictly for racing on put your lightweight tires on them. Nothing to be gained by training on "thin" tires.0 -
23mm Mich Krylion carbon (240g) and Mich aircomp ultralight (74g). My weights.
Not superlight but not bad, yet tough.

If you want lighter tyres then ProRace3/Schwalbe Ultremo/Conti GP4000S but be prepared for less life and more fragility.
Another tube is the Conti Race Light, which comes in the same as the Mich above.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -

It sounds latex will give less rolling resistance. Just need to pump them up often.

Thanks for all your replies:-) I have rubino's on at the moment so will probably go with their pro's, and latex tubes just to try them out.

latex are more supple and you need to top them up regularly, basically.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

Right guys. Just received my Kysrium Elite front wheel, (E-Bay) do I need to use rim tape with this wheel?
