I've had over 6 parcels go missing/not turn up in the past 3 months!!! The most recent are 3 gift vouchers from same company in 3 different envelopes. Now that just makes me suspicious. The company say they have definetely been sent out so what is Mr/Mrs Postperson doing with my parcels!?!?!?!
Anyone else having problems?

Make a complaint and they tend to warn the postie to make sure your past arrives. It worked for me in the past.0 -
has anyone had a "we tried to deliver a parcel" note put through their door without them ever trying to deliver it? This has happened a couple of times to me now. Something seems so dodgy with that. Our postman has just put them through the door with the normal post - I asked him about it and he couldn't explain it. Nor could they at the royal mail depot.0

My brother lives in Liverpool and has had 4 bank cards go missing in the post in the last 12 months. Amazon won't send rental DVDs to his house anymore either as they simply never arrive."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

There are 30,000 temporary RM workers brought in over Christmas.
If they can't get work, and the only thing they can do is sort mail, then....
Get the companies sending you stuff to post it Recorded or Special Delivery.0 -

I work from home and that's happened to me a few times. It depends which individual is doing the round – where I live packages sent by parcel force aren't delivered by the guy doing the letter/small packet deliveries.
OTOH the posties are under constant pressure from their managers for increased productivity I guess it might be tempting to leave an obviously bulky item at the depot for me to collect.0 -

Only from the Royal Mail Parcels, have watched them out of our kitchen window walk up drop a card through the letter box and walk away and not even knock or ring.0 -

I happened to be walking out of the door just as the postie came to put one of those cards through the letter box without even knocking. When I realised it was for me I asked him for my parcel and he said I would have to go to the depo. When I kept badgering him it turned out he didn't even have it on him and his excuse was that they sometimes leave it at the depo and give the card when they expect you to be out.
Here's an idea.....try delivering it when you expect me to be in!0 -

I don't think they ever bother actually trying to deliver parcels that don't fit through the letter box these days, I only ever get the cards without a knockDo not write below this line. Office use only.0 -
simple salmon - yes
got in today to one of the said leaflets about the parcel being too big so it's been returned to depot and then as walked further down the stairs (live in basement flat) there are 2 parcels left on the floor outside by RM neither of which are same consignment number on note. Now it's great that the postie left the parcels for me but what if it was raining??? Even worse I live in London FFS!!!There is never redemption, any fool can regret yesterday...

I've got a complaint lodged currently with RM. A parcel was lost in their sorting office, ie they tried to deliver it, no one home so returned it to depot. Now they can't find it. The tosspots state that as it was posted from abroad ( US ) they are not in any way responsible . Won't pay out for loss & say the sender must start an investigation from his end!

Scam. The postie or his mates have half inched it away.Life is like a roll of toilet paper; long and useful, but always ends at the wrong moment. Anon.
Think how stupid the average person is.......
half of them are even more stupid than you first thought.0 -
I've had £250 of John Lewis vouchers not turn up last month. We get them every month and they are only sent out by standard 1st class post which I always thought was very trusting . Not sure if they are despatched directly from JL or from husband's employer but it is essentially as good as £250 cash and I can't believe they use just 1st class post!0

Have always found Royal Mail a lottery in terms of service, its fairly apparent they have too many thieves in their ranks. Its not just a question of things not turning up at all, there are many occasions when a parcel has arrived but its fairly obvious someone has had a look inside and I just happened to get lucky that time the the person concerned considered it of no value to them.
Their attitude to complaints just inflames things even more and is usually a response containing how many items they handle a day and only 0.something % are undelivered... and this is supposed to make it okay for casual theft is it? :?
More than happy to use an alternative whenever possible.0 -
I've usually had very good service from Royal Mail.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered an airbrush and some acrylic paint over the phone at about 2pm on a Friday afternoon. I was woken by the postman at 8am the following morning with the stuff. Similar experience from the same source earlier this week though it was just paint this time - one expensive airbrush is enough
I've also had no problems when sending stuff I've sold on eBay and that includes some very funny packages - like a set of 3 suits of masts and sails for amodel racing yacht in a BIG triangular parcel.
I doubt if any of the other delivery services are any better. The advantage of RM is that I only need to go 2.5 miles to the sorting office to get a parcel if we miss the postie rather than traipse into Derby, 11 miles away at least, for the others.
All our posties seem to be decent cheerful souls. Perhaps we're lucky?
