stevet1992 I think I've still got some Peaty grips (white grip with blue and red lock rings) that I can send you for nowt if you want them. One of the lock bolts would need replacing at some point because it's nearly rounded off (not by me). They're still workable though. I can send you some pics if you want them.

Bike is looking really good, well done :D

That would be great ! Cant offer you much as moneys a bit tight after finishing this build  Pm me a few details and ill see what i can do :)

Your bikes looking great to ! Really like the colour ... I only got the standard colour as it was £10 cheaper !

  • Not asking for any money chap.
PM me your address and I'll pop them in a Jiffy bag on Monday.

@ Kiblams - The chainstay protector on mine is Orange not red, just seems to be a very deep orange at the moment, I'm sure it'll fade a bit over time though. And those tyres are proper DH monsters, VERY heavy though (about 1,600g EACH ). They were outstanding on the DH bike, and do look the mutts nuts, but I can't justify carrying that much weight round, it's making it impossible to pedal up anything.
I can drop about 4lbs just by switching to something like Conti Mtn Kings.

Can i confirm yours is a 456 in strong blue? I'm just trying to understand how they're badged.

Right well i should have a bit of money hitting the bank in a week or 2 ... White rims ? Would it be to far on the white or look chuffing good ? Either way im having the hubs built into something stronger ! Was looking at some Halo Freedom rims in white

Apart from that i dont think ive felt the need to change anything else ! It really is such a nice bike to ride and ive never had the feeling to get out and ride as much as i do now !

Another pic in the snow (the one at the back!)

    Is that your Accord?
  • Dunno, but if you hold off another 4-5 weeks, I might have some white V8s you can have :P

If you're looking for white bars, I recommend looking on the on-one website. they have FSA Maximus bars (same as the ones on my bike) for about a tenner. And my white Kore stem was about £18 from Highonbikes.

You'll also need some white gear cables and white wall Nobby Nics :D

Edit: Oh, btw, are you using a medium cage rear mech? Looking to upgrade mine to X-0 and was wondering about going to a medium.

Tried some V8's in Wales funnily enough and they are just to small for my size 12 stompers  looking at the Superstar Nano tech pedals

Are the FSA bars nice and wide ? Im quite broad shouldered and finding the Raceface ars tiny ! Already looking into Goodridge cables for the brakes and gears

Yep its a medium cage Sram X-7 ... Havent hit it on anything yet !

  • I only use the V8s for commuting on, so they've never had any problems with my size 12s  . Besides, i normally use spuds, so I'm used to smaller pedals.

Maximus is 710mm (I think) which is not massively wide.

As for the goodridge gear cables. Guess what I've got about 3m of sat in my garage doing nothing?

    Ask and ye shall receive.

Not worth selling it TBH, you won't make any money on it so I would keep it (as you said it's a great frame) and slowly build it up alongside the Meta... 8)
