I have a TREK EX8 running hutchinson toro on the back but my front tyre is causing major issues, still original bontrager jones, i had 3 fall offs on weekend with it slipping away on wet mud and roots. Need something to inspire confidance with loads of grip. Use bike for trail riding and some xc.

I have checked past threads and noted that Maxxis Swampthing 2.35 got good feedback any other worth considering?

Cheers

dont bother looking no further, just buy 2 x maxxis minion dh-f in maxxpro kevlar bead.

super fast rolling, pretty light and grip is awesome.

if you not impressed ill eat my weight dog poo.

I have tried the following tyres on the front of bikes................

    Kenda Nevegal DTC 2.35"
Kenda Small Block 8 DTC 2.35"

Maxxis Minion DHF ST 42a 2.35"
    Maxxis Swampthing ST 42a 2.35"
    Maxxis Swampthing ST 42a 2.5"

    Panaracer Fire XC Pro 2.1"

    WTB Motoraptors 2.1"

Minions are pretty good and aren't too draggy but they aren't even in the same league as the Swampthing when it comes down to all conditions front end grip.I will never use another tyre on the front of a bike in anything but bone dry conditions.
