These are my bikes. None of them have gears. You don't need gears in East Anglia.

1) Carrera Subway

I bought this bad boy stock in 2005 when i had my beloved Giant Boulder nicked (sob sob (i got the frame back in the end)). Since then i've changed a surprising amount on it to make it the random heap of parts you see today. It's used to riding to the pub and that's all nowadays, hence the uber cool bars.

Highlights:
Mavic XC717 on Deore front wheel
Mad handlebars
Pro LT post, Mongoose saddle
Singlespeed, running a 42-12 ratio
Specialized Fatboy 1.25 slicks

2) Falcon 'Tour Of Britain'

Bought complete at a police auction for £25 a good few (about 10) years ago for my brother, it's now mine. It stayed pretty much stock (5 speed gears an all) for a long time until i got bit by the fixie bug.

Highlights:
Rattle can matt black paint
BMX cranks, gusset chainring
Fixed
Rigida front wheel, front hub sprayed fluro orange
NOS Saracen stem
Flat bars
OURY grips (the best thing ever)
It's really dangerous

3) Federal Function

I bought this as (yet another) complete back in '06, stripped it down in '07 when i had my BMX, rebuilt it in '08 and perfected in '09, here it stands. The only standard bits are the frame, forks and stem.

Highlights:
Federal function 24 frame + forks
S&M bars
Truvativ Luftalarm cranks + ISIS BB (over a year old, no complaints!)
Sun Singletrack on Demolition Bullimia front wheel (Painted in Nissan 456 red)
Sun Rhyno Lite XL on Prolite freewheel rear wheel (Painted in Nissan 456 red)
1990's Shimano Exage U brake (the tits)
Less gears, more beers.

Thats a nice flower pot. How do you find the Subway? May buy one for work. Distinct collection nonetheless. :)

I was about to ask if Joe had a mountain bike...
  • I'm in the process of building up about 3 new bikes (a 24" MTB to replace the Federal, a new fixie and then a new XC/Light freeride thing come spring), i'd just thought i'd show my current steeds.

Missmarple, i can't fault the subway, they're really well specced bikes for the price to be honest, all the kit is decent enough for daily battering.

I'll half-give you the 24" jump bike you're planning on building, but you should be hung drawn and quartered for considering a fixie.
