They normally say that you can't be a true petrol head until you've owned an Alfa.
Are they saying the same about Lancia?Expertly coached by http://www.vitessecyclecoaching.co.uk/

I once crossed Europe in a Lancia Fulva, as a hitchhiker. We did Lyon to Athens, via Switzerland, Tuscany, Rome and the Med on a ferry that refused to dock at one calling point, prompting a passenger riot on board. We were not much help to morale, when the clutch cable snapped on the off ramp at Patras!
The Lancia had a missing back window (smashed in Hamburg) and holes in the floor, through which wafted the dust of the long and winding road.
We were an Australian (from Queensland), an American (from California), an Irishman (from Cork) and me. We listened to the Doors on continuous loop and shared our tents with backpacking women. It all got a bit messy after a bottle of Metaxa*** in Igoumenitsa.
Ah the 70's!! 8) 8)
That Lancia was a very fine car. The last I saw of it, it was gathering considerable quantities of dust outside the Youth Hostel in Athens. I suspect it had been abandoned.0 -
Fulva..
..still sounds rude to me.0 -

You didn't see what happened in the tent in Igoumenitsa after a bottle of Metaxa***. It certainly wasn't polite!0 -
It's Fulvia BTW - and indeed a very nice car. Especially the rally version
Loads of other 50s/60s Lancia's were named after old Roman roads - Appia, Flaminia, Aurelia, great names.Expertly coached by http://www.vitessecyclecoaching.co.uk/

I stand corrected, although I suspect that the "i" had fallen off when the window was smashed in Hamburg0 -
My dad's got a lancia monte carlo at home. I hated it at first but I must admit that its beginning to grow on me....albeit slowly!0

I've had two Beta Coupe's - which is essentially the same car as the Monte Carlo, albeit different body shapeExpertly coached by http://www.vitessecyclecoaching.co.uk/

The Hawk HF that was on the show was at the Knockhill classic speed fair a couple of times.

Two? Did they last a week between them Thought the Top Gear boys had somehow forgotten the Delta Integrale at first :shock:0 -
The old man had a Beta, brilliant drivers car. I've always lusted after the Delta Integrale but wife and kids don't allow it....... I did have a three litre Alfa 75 in the past, identical to the one clarkson drove in the "Alfa" show, staggeringly good car...till it broke :roll:0
-
A colleague had a delta integrale and it was the most fun and best car I've ever been in, it stuck to the road and loved bends.
I had a couple of fettled Golf GTI's years ago that were great but his lancia was different class.0 -

Loved the kitcar, shame it didnt handle very well though...Cycling never gets any easier, you just go faster - Greg LeMond0

I have to own an Integrale before I die....Rob Spedding, Editor, Cycling Plus0

Ah, memories of Lancia Stratos rally cars!
That kit car's handling's lethal. I've never seen The Stig spin anything as many times.
Lancia could certainly knock out stunning cars.
I assume that anything from that stable these days, is but a badge-engineered Fiat?Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.0 -
Went on a rally to Corsica and there was a full rally spec Stratos there, everytime I saw it I stopped reading the pace notes because I feel in love with it, again & again & again!0
