Special order MTB's from Halfords - Scott, Cannondale.....

Hi,
I am planning to get a bike under cycle2work scheme and have to use Halfords. Like the Boardman but to be honest am worried that every man and his dog will own one in the next 12 months so wanted to get something different. I am told by a helpful man at Halfords Cycle2work helpdesk by e-mail that they do have access to a number of wider brands via special order including Cannondale, Scott, Trek.
Does anyone have any experience of getting a special order bike in this way via Halfords? Advice welcome.

well unfortunately you do if you work at my place - exclusivity agreement and non-negotiable!!!!0 -
I ordered a Specialized Rockhopper Expert through my Cycle2work scheme that insisted on Halfords too. Just about any bike was available as they ordered it through a third party in my case Leisure Lake Bikes!Specialized Rockhopper Expert Disc 20090
