buy some lock-on grips e.g. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=23476
or take them off, dry the bars and inside of the grips and put them back on using something like (a tiny bit of) hairspray which will let them slide on but dries sticky. They'll probably get loose again after the next time you ride in the rain. Get lock-ons0 -
Swapped my bars last night and used same grips (non lock on type) using the hairspray method as above. Super easy to get on, and seemed to of set really well this morning when checking over my late night handie work!0

Yup hairspray is the way forward, clean the bars, spray on and slide the grips back on.
Be prepared to cut them off though when you replace them0 -
Lockons or if you must stay with traditional grips, hairspray, spraymount etc. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0 -
I use micropore, thin tape used in hospitals. Use 2 -4 wraps, then hairspray.
Only thing is, bugger to get off again - messy/sticky - but does the trick well.0 -
Car adhesive works well

slide grip off...clean bars and inside of grip... head grip up with hair dryer... then slide back on?
The hair dryer is supposed to make the grip expand just enough so you can slide it on, then contract when on the bars2009 Genesis core 000 -
GT85 has always worked fine for me.Less gears, more beers.0

Always used it, and never had any slippage. You only need a little bit to get them on then leave them overnight to dry and they're solid as you like.
If you find them slipping the day after then you've probably used too much.Less gears, more beers.0 -
thanks gents ... will try the hairspray in the morning ... btw what the best way to clean the inside of the grip ?09 Rockhopper Comp
