Cube LTD Pro vs Trek 6500

Ok I think I have finally narrowed my search down to two bikes. The Cube LTD Pro or the Trek 6500.

Im leaning toward the Cube just tried one last night felt really good (although I tried the trek on sat and that felt good too!). My main concern with the Cube is I don't really know much about them. Does anyone own one? I have seen a few threads with people raving about the LTD Team the only difference seems to be the Forks are Manitou Minute LTD 100mm any good (again I have no real knowledge of this brand!) or are the Rock Shox Recon SL far superior (which the trek also has)?

The price of the LTD comp is very good are the Rock Shox Dart 3 best avoided??

Im just getting back into biking so ill only be doing XC, trails and the occasional down hill stuff to start with am I looking at the wrong bikes?? I have been also looking at the Boardman Comp FS and the Cube XTC FS (although a friend told me to avoid FS under £1200 any thoughts?

18" or 20" Im 5 10 so it depends on the bike the 18" felt good on the cube with the seat up

Very nice bikes. I got the ltd team last August and Ive had endless fun on it. It got me round the Isle of man E2E anyway

Dilemma oer with just ordered the LTD Pro in white and blue, very excited I'll try and get some pic's up when it arrives if anyone is interested!

I'm sure you willl love it, being a cube owner also (there is quite a few of us lurking!), and getting the cube ltd race as my first 'proper' bike nearly a year ago, it's been brillant and my ridings come a long way in which the bike must contribute to some extent.

Sounding like a old record but as posted before the bike has seen me good through long all day xc rides to more all day demanding peak district/welsh trail centre rides

Out of pure interest how come your selling it?

i'm thinking of selling it for two reasons really, firstly because i just can't get a comfortable riding position on it, i've tried a shorter stem, moving the seat backwards and forwards but no matter what i do i get back pains when i'm riding it, i went to dalby forest last sunday and every bump seemed to shake my back to bits, i must say at this point that this is no fault of the bike as i do suffer often with a bad back. whilst there though i had a ride on my brothers all mountain full suspension bike and what a difference having the rear suspension made, it was a much more comfortable riding position(more upright), and didn't feel every bump going through my dodgy back, and secondly i've now got the bug for the more rugged stuff, really enjoyed the black routes at dalby hence another reason for getting a full suspension....i'm a bit miffed really because the bike is a really nice bike with real good spec, i'd have to pay a lot more for a full suspension bike with similar spec..

don't want start quoting figures (don't want to get told off by the mods as this isn't in the for sale section) but needles to say i'm open to sensible offers, it also comes with the shorter stem (£45) and a set of nobby nics evolution 2.25 and 2.1 (£90) as well as the original tyres..oh and it's a 19.5 inch frame..

i only got it about 5 weeks ago and i've only ridden it about 6 times and done about 45 miles on it and its just like new..
