Not seen a review of the Aurora but if it's the same frame but with an integrated post then it'll will prbably be a good ride also, probably with more road feedback though with maybe (some percieve) a little more stiffness.
Looks very nice but not sure I'd bother over the Hercules SE.
  • Picked up a Dolan Aurora with full SRAM red the other day. Very, very nice ride. Good and responsive.

Cant compare to the Hercules as i've never ridden one.

    thanks Rick

i say an offer on a similar one in graham weigh looked like a very good deal but i was a bit
    nervouse of integrated seat mast

how are you finding the sram red chainset is it flexing at all under power
  • Mine came from Graham Weigh - Nice people and good service in there - ask for Keith.

I have to say I was a little skeptical about this frame due to the seatmast but it looks the biz!

I've not really ridden the bike to comment too much on the chainset but so far I haven't been disappointed by the reported flexy nature of the chainrings. I'll keep an eye on them though.

I suppose it depends what you are used to - I ride campag veloce on my other bike and these flex more than sram red that is for certain

    Hope this helps

I have had this bike now for about 8 months, It's kitted out with Chorus, Deda and Spinergy deep section carbon wheels.
My previous bike was the Dolan Tuono which was nice but not as nice as the Aurora.
I think it's as stiff and as light as the Tuono, and is light enough to lift the front wheel up while climbing. when ordering I gave them an exact measurment of the centre of the cranks to the top of my seat, and its a perfect fit.
I am still not sure about the paint scheme, but a very good finish. considering that I have brought this bike after a Colnago.
I would recommend this bike, I think it's great value now that I have seen itfor around the 800 pound mark.
Just remember that having the seat mast built in means you will have to run it into the ground before buying another frame. ( I think it a faddy thing anyway)
I am doing flanders on it this year, so will give feedback on how it does.
    Nice to buy british though.
  • Guys just asking if both of you are both happy still with the Aurora?
With it being a small world, did I speak to you Rick in Wrexham just after you had ordered a Cervelo frame?
Advantange/disadvantage of having a distinctive bike, perhaps.
