FoDCA trail, closed for long?

Was thinking of spending New Year in the Forest of Dean with some friends but according to the FC website, the trail is currently closed.
Does anyone know if it's due to reopen anytime soon and/or are there any other trails within the Forest of Dean that are worthy of a two day visit? Don't know much about the area so any info is appreciated.

    loads of single tracks all over the woods, i can easly cover 30 miles a ride around there and not go on the same track twice. plenty of routes to go down. give me a shout when your down here. im always out and about allover the forest,. i only live 10 mins from the bike centre at cannop. the forestry say a part of the forest is shut but the trails are all over the forest and you wouldnt even notice what part it was that they say is closed.

    Thanks for the reply, but we've decided on Llandegla instead for New Year. We're open to trying new places so we'll no doubt give Forest of Dean a go at some point in 2010.
