    ...and it could be worse.
...you could be miles from home, wet and cold, with poor light...
...and possibly no tools and no p&^£^% repair kit, patches or pump.

...whereas, you're obviously at home, warm and dry, so are able to perfect and refine your technique at your leisure.

What people actually cycle without a bag full of tools? :)

I came out of the dentist having had a extraction only to find I had a puncture. So there I was changing my inner tube while dribbling blood and spit. Must have looked a right site.

I have become hopeless at fixing punctures since I started replacing the punctured one with a new tube, rather than a roadside fix. Whenever I try to patch the punctured ones they never stick properly.

Lucky for me I've not had to repair any for a while ... that's me jinxed then.

Or fit reasonable quality tyres (Gp4000), keep them >100 psi once a week, relax for several thousand miles of commute/training in Bath. Worked for me

might not work for you

Carry a spare tube - avoids all that messing about with patches and glue - you can fix it at leisure :)
