Just came across these photos from the Amstel Curaçao race in early November.

Very 'interesting' podium girls!!

Race won by Contador - but can anyone explain to me why they are wearing their Tour de France jerseys? (Schlek, Thor and Bertie). Is this some promotional thing?

It's one of the crits arranged right after the tour de france where the winner usually is arranged beforehand. Basically a chance to see the tour de france heroes racing in the streets.

In a normal race, Contador definitely wouldn't win a race where Thor got 2nd and Mark Cavendish got 4th. It's not like he's better than the best sprinters in the world on the flats :p

Except it was in early early November - not in July!

Doesn't change anything except from the part of it being right after the tour de france :p

They are wearing their jerseys so "common" people can recognize them more easily.
