Looking at Canyon's offerings, the CF Ultimate SLX in particular, seems grand value for money compared with (insert any brand here) top frames. Anyone got / ridden one?

Have a look at the Canyon opinions on weightweenies.
There's 3 things that crop up with Canyons it seems (there's quite a few threads on WW):
1. Long headtube - fine if you want a long headtube
2. Steerer is 1 1/4" so stems are not that easy to come by.
3. Apparantly Canyon customer service is/was atrocious, and waiting times were quite high.0 -
Cheers, head tube not a problem as I'm used to running with spacers so will be good to use less. Stem no probs as comes with the frame.
The customer service thang and no chance of riding one first, however, is a problem.0 -

surely not all canyon customers are atrocious?
i remember Cadel's TT bike from the tour. his mechanics had to doctor the frame to get him low enough. they cut a slot in the head tube to position his stem. i reckon it would have been pretty difficult to navigate a hairpin bend.regards,

Not got one yet - but I have placed an order for an Ultimate AL.
1 - I have known from the outset that it will not arrive until Jan - delivery times are v clear on the website. Don't see what the problem is here really as ordering consumer goods is quite routine?
2 - tall headtube yes but that suits me - and they will change the stem no problem - just indicate that on your order.
3 - whilst I haven't received the bike yet (have ordered complete bike and will get LBS to assemble / check) the customer service has been excellent so far - all emails answered in a day or so with very clear and thorough answers no matter how trivial the question. I even emailed and asked about the poor service issues before spending my money (which they won't take until bike is despatched) and they were very frank and aware of past problems and able to tell me what they had done to rectify them. emailed in English - my german only runs to ordering beer! and this was no problem either.
Hope that is of some help0 -
