Edge 705 scratch repair

I knew it would happen eventually but I have put quite a deep scratch on my edge 705 and was wondering what anyone else uses for repairing scratches on the screen?? I was thinking of just using a normal CD scratch repair kit but didn;t know if there was anything better out there!

    Shame you have scratched the screen of your Garmin. I use a two part system to protect and keep my Garmin scratch free, firstly I use iPhone clear touchscreen protection film on the screen at all times.

    This stops the scratches happening in the first instance, however of I did scratch the screen I would then, depending on how deep the scratch is, polish it out with a plastic polish called Novus plastic polish. http://www.amazon.com/Novus-Polish-Plastic-Scratch-Remover/dp/B000J41VDM/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top type of thing. If the scratch is really deep I have a modellors finishing kit with micro fine finishing papers of 3million grade wet and dry. Either way you will need patience, a gentle but persistant amount of elbow grease to polish it out, without cracking the screen altogether or rendering it opaque!
