Singlespeed chains?

Since converting one of my bikes to a singlespeed last week (I used the DMR conversion kit), I've continued to use the 9-speed KMC chain that was on the bike.

My question is; should I really be buying an ss-specific chain?

    why?

if the 9n spd fits getting a wider one will do nothing but add weight.

  • Just wondered if I was doing the wrong thing, Nick.

I've just had a look around and it appears that kit is fine for standard 9spd chains. Apologies for a wasted post!

  • You only need to change it if you find yourself getting through chains at a faster rate.
