I'm looking for a good winter jacket that will keep me dry and hopefully sweat free (or as near as). i have an Endura Stealth jacket under which i wear a merino wool base layer, problem is i still get all sweaty and the jacket feels clammy inside. Has anyone tried the eVent material? Money no object what jacket would you buy?

Jim.

I use an Assos 851, keeps the showers out and warm if it does get wet. Then keep a Giordana Tenax in my pocket for if the heavens open. I don't mind wet, as long as I'm warm.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

I keep saying this, but a Gore Oxygen SO is the bee knees. I wear it with a merino baselayer and never get sweaty, pus i"m nice and warm. Recommended.

And no, I'm not on commission from Gore!

do a search of waterproof, this has been done to death.
softshell windproof is best for light rain / showers. Breathes better. Gortex Oxygen SO or Phantom etc.

A lightweight paclite type is ok for back pocket in reserve...

montane featherlite, through to eVent / goretex depending on price

It can't be any good for winter in a downpour can it? It mentions it windproof but not waterproof. The Gore Oxygen IV is waterproof.
