Outside Bike Storage - Balcony

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone had any advice for storing mine and my wifes road bikes outside on the balcony. Other than get a good waterproof cover (motorbike one?) and be doubly careful about greasing and lubing and keeping an eye out for rust, any other ideas?
I am expecting the response keep them indoors, but I don't think I'm going to get away with that! :roll:

That's a potential idea, the metal box which would be ideal is far too expensive, but I could build a small shed! I'll have to measure when we move in....0

I'm having to store my bikes outside at present and as you say I'm just using a waterproof bike cover I bought from Halfords. Seems to be doing the job, bikes are staying clean and dry. My biggest worry is they will get blown over.0

If you can fit a smallish shed type thing, maybe go for one of those maintenance free plastic tool chest things:
