Optional bus lane on Mile End Road

So this is my understanding of bus lanes: the red lane on the left side of the road is for buses, bikes and motorbikes. Cars can use it on the weekend and at night but can be fined otherwise.
Every time I go down the bus lane on Whitechapel High Street/Mile End Road I get buzzed by at least 5-6 cars in the bus lane. Is there some rule I don't know about or do these drivers just not give a feck?

Bus lanes are only operational at certain times of day- I think most of this area its 7-10am and or 4-7pm.
so between 10 and 4 they can be used by any vehicleWant to know the Spen666 behind the posts?

I think it's just that road, I was thinking this just the other day when I was cycling down there and every other car was swerving around me.
I tend to find that is one of the worst places to cycle in London, people don't seem to know or care about the rules of the road at all.0 -

On all bus lanes there should be a blue sign that will tell you when or if cars can use it.
One near me is from 7-10 am on one side and 24hrs on the other ( A10 going to Tottenham from the Great Cambridge round about ).0
