    Bring on the Nemesis! ....again.

Always thought the F1 was a lovely thing. The race bikes went like stink ( good for 135 bhp in the 80's) until the powers that be decided that they were the best part of 1300cc.

I did a race school at Cadwell years ago & 2 fellas had F1's. For one of the drills we had to do was ride around the circuit in 3rd without using the brakes. The F1 guys were having bother as on a closed throttle the bikes were picking up speed!

They also mentioned the special oil used to lube the engines. It's no longer made so when they had used up their supplies that was that. Both of them had a few 50gallon drums put away in the garage.

Didn't know they were ever out of British ownership but I'm somewhat out of touch.

Never had a Norton but I nearly bought a 500SS Dominator a club mate had ridden in the Clubman's TT. Unfortunately £150 was a bit outside my budget at the time it was nice bike though and handled beautifully. Always fancied a 500T but I stuck with Ariels for trials.

@Andy162 Cadwell was my favourite circuit. I only went for Vintage Club events though because the paddock was open and I knew a lot of the riders. I was once supposed to a travelling marshall on a Silk 700s but George failed to provide it so I used my little brother's Suzuki Super 6. Happy days a very long time ago.
