Rugby's pretty simple if you play it, you pick up the rules fairly quickly.0

In rugby how can you tell whether there is a foul or not. i am not very fa,iliar with this game as i have never played it.0

How can you be fit enough to play rugby yet not be fit enough to ride a bike? :?
Rugby is a good game, as long as you do not throw the ball forward.0 -

There are a whole host of incidents which would result in a penalty being given"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -
yes, and you'd better know which one you're playing or you're boned!
Ok, so few differences between the 2:
League has 13 players and union has 15
A try in League = 4 points, try in Union = 5
When you're tackled in League, you hold onto the ball, then re-start and play it through the legs.
When you're tackled in union, you release the ball and then ruck or maul (depending on if the ball carrier has gone to ground).
In Union, you use line-outs when the ball goes out of play.0 -
too many rules for me. i will just stick to DH0
-
League teams:
Leeds Rhinos
St Helens
Wigan Warriors
Bradford Bulls
etc
Union Teams:
Leeds Carnegie
London Irish
Leicester Tigers
Newcastle Falcons
Saracens
Etc0 -
League tends to be a faster game as well.
Also Union has scrums, whereas League doesn't.0 -

Except Aussie rules is not Rugby, it's Aussie Rules Football.
Like American Football is not rugby either, it's American Football.
Then there's Gaelic Football, which is essentially just a fight, with a ball.
Oh, I almost forgot about Sevens Rugby0 -

oh they are only technicalities. Its more like rugby than American football. I only ever played it with a rugby ball therefore i classed it as rugby.0 -
you need a spine to play rugby"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

so true!!! it was based around a fight outside a pub, some kids stopped to watch, dared one of them to kick the ball into the rammy, and so Gaelic Football was born!!i spent all me money on whisky and beer!!!0 -

I went and see the Guinness premiership final a year ago, the atmosphere was amazing (it was Lawrence Dillaglio's last game for wasps) only the second game i'd seen live, it was great.Santa Cruz Chameleon

It says it all that one of the first records of Gaelic football comes from the early 14th century when a spectator was charged with accidentally stabbing a player. (although it wont have been Gaelic football even remotely as it's played today)
There is also the "International Rules Football" which is a cross-breed of Aussie Rules and Gaelic and was invented so that the Irish and the Aussies could come together in beautiful surroundings and kick the living p1ss out of one another.0 -
