They do a few models - check the MTE website.

Though youd expect them to be the same from a shop if they have the same product code!
  • Have you tested them against each other?
  • need to recharge my batteries first

however, they fell completely different in the construction
  • Your 'number 2 torch' looks the same as my MTE SSC P7 from DX, and my mates from the same place.

maybe you have an updated version?
  • i wouldnt worry too much, i have what seems to be a combination of your two torches, the body of one and the spring end cap of the other, i think mte makes a few models. charge batteries and try them and tell us of the results. why are the torches different prices?
  • on the price one is in dollars and one in £ - wierd as fromt he same site. I also bought them a couple of months apart.

    from the mte website

well mine at 18650 batteries for a start
    no 2 has 2 modes
no1 appears to have only 1 mode
pic on the p7 looks quite different to the website
  • My SSC P7-C from DX is identical to your no.2, and has two modes ?
  • yes my no.2 has two modes and definately feels the better contstucted of the two although no.1 isn't too bad

    # Flashing mode of 15mhz
Bullorcks. if it "flashed" at 15 megahertz, then it would only be flashing in theory - no one would ever be able to see it.

maybe they got confused and that is the actual freq of the light when it is on...obviously LEDS do this....in fact they are off more than they are on, but so fsat we can't see it.

First one is a Fake, for sure, MTE logo should be hollow/outline if it is not its a fake. As long as the brightness and quality are okay there wont be much difference. I have had the Sf-15 from DX and BOB and the bob one was clearly a fake but surprising a real good thrower for a P7 so pretty happy all in.

Not entirely sure that's correct. Are you sure you're not confusing this with how an AC lightbulb flickers at mains frequency?
