What grease for hubs?

I think my hubs need a look at, they're making odd rubbing/grating noises since I cleaned the bike last weekend. I've always taken it to the LBS for such things but it's about time I had a go myself. Looks simple enough, but what's the best grease to put in? I've got a pot of lithium grease that I put on all the nuts and bolts, will that do the job or do I need something thicker?

Litium grease is OK but I've just purchased a tube of Weldtite TF2 grease. Not the cheap white lithium grease they sell in 40g tubes but the red stuff in 150ml plastic tubes. The last tube I used lasted years and that was using it on friends bikes etc when I? worked on them, now I'll be using it on my own bike then it will outlast me. Costs around £5 on Ebay though you can buy it with a grease gun for £10.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
