Bad zip!

My Altura Nevis Jacket zips have self destructed after only a couple of years. I generally liked the jacket but I can't see myself getting another one of these! I can't stand poor zips! Such an important element in any jacket. I am a rural/town commuter (7miles) and need a good jacket. Thinking about splashing out for a Gore. Any horror zip stories or recommendations?
We need a bigger boat.

It often seems that the quality of the zip isn't related to the cost of the jacket. Even the good ones often have a duffer.

Many dry cleaners do repairs on clothing and zips. If the jacket is still good see if they can replace the zip for you

I keep seeing this thread and thinking "Bad zip! Naughty zip! Go to your bed!" or alternatively my brain connects me to naughty Zoot who wanted spanking in the Holy Grail...

I had an Altura Nightvision jacket where the waterproof taped pocket seam broke after only a few weeks usage. I did get a new one, but I've always been very careful with the zips on it.

Replaced the zip on my years old Kalahari jacket and cost me about £10, the only difference was teh new one was a single pull whereas the original was a double pull. Think the tailor sewed the new zip too far into the jacket as it has got tighter over the years
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
