It really is an old school style XC route there are very few jumps as such, it's all about the climbing...the descents are moderately rocky singletrack...more technical near the end of the ride when you are boxed...but just point and shoot type stuff, nice ride anyways.0

If it's jumps you want do the red or blue. Black like busta said is old school but the climbs are great and the flowing single track is lovely. Just a few steep downhill bits on the trail to keep you intrested but not many. Must say first time I rode it I was expecting more but it grows on you. I wish I was in glentress this weekend. Enjoy0

If its jumps you want then get over to innerleithen some good jumps and fun sections there.
If you and your mates are fairly fit you could do the black at gt in the morning and go over to inners (about 10 mins in the car) and do the red/black in the afternoon that would give the best of everything lmo0 -
I agree with the above that inners could be the answer tho the climb up is a fair slog but still good fun. You could go to GT and ride spooky wood for all the jump fun you are after and then cut off down the fireroad, a short section of blue trail which is nice and swoopy then head up the fireroad and do redemtion/ deliverance before rejoining the red. Easy to see where i mean with a trail map and means you can sample the blacks style without riding the whole thing. Makes for a good day out too.0

GT black's great, it's not fashionable to like it but it really is a brilliant trail. It's just not very black, is all I think there's a diversion currently though, cutting up to the blue for a bit part way up Redemption and then running down the red. Shame as this means it cuts out the newer, harder parts, which are a real highlight
If you really like your jumps, here's a secret- do the blue Or at least, do Good Game- it was built as being a "blue spooky woods" but every jump has 2 levels and the ones on the higher side of the slope can be a lot of fun if you hit them hard. It's a wee bit easy to catch yourself out though as it's definately not designed for this approach but it's great fun in places. You miss out on parts of Falla Brae doing this, which is a shame as it's a fantastic bit of trail but it's not at all jumpy.Uncompromising extremist0
