new pro race 3's on shamals

its not actually possible is it?
ive got maybe 4/5's of the tyre on and thats it - there's maybe two inches to push the tyre up onto the rim and its absolutely solid. No way am i shifting it with my thumbs and I'm not even making any progress with spoons
un-effing-believable

It should be a sticky. Which tyre works with which rim. In fact it should come as a warning on tyres and rims.
Something to consider if you cant do it now in a warm house with plenty of time then how are you supposed to do in the rain on the side of the road?
Sell one of them!
Pro races on campag wheels are pretty tough tbh, they are on my zondas but doable.
Just hope you dont puncture one cold, wet sunday morning
PB's
10m 20:21 2014
25m 53:18 20:13
50m 1:57:12 2013
100m Yeah right.
And, yep, the cold sunday morning or even trying to get a decent time half way through the marmotte, was on my mind. Its game over if you puncture.
All of a sudden tubs seem incredibley practical...
Finally, absolutely no tyre provides any grip on wet cattle grids IME - you have to take them square on without any lean. I absolutely loathe uphill grids in the wet - particularly the ones with round bars. The one at the bottom of Hardknott in the rain is a pig - you have to pedal like crazy to build-up enough speed to freewheel across.
Colnago
Cervelo
Campagnolo
Good luck with getting them on in the first place though
+1 re using talc, give it a try.
Getting them off will be easier, once you've managed to get the second tyre lever in, which is by far the most difficult part.
Another nightmare combo is Vittoria Rubino 19-23mm tyres and any of the Mavic Cosmic rims.
Eh?
And to think all those company's making tyre levers when they should never be used.
Pro race 3 are tight but once you got them on once and fully inflated they come off and go back on again with a lot less hassle.
i'd sooner a tyre was a little tight than a little lose when taking a downhill bend at 40mph
You need tyre levers to get the tyre off, absolutely no question. YOU SHOULD NOT NEED TYRE LEVERS TO GET THE TYRE BACK ON.
Good for you on having a tight tyre when taking your 40mph bends and good luck on getting it off when it's dark wet and p..ing down or good luck carrying your talk, washing up liquid and tool kit when you puncture and want to get it off.
Funny that I have tyres that fit PROPERLY on the rims, that don't come off on 40mph bends and I can get off in seconds in the rain and dark with a tiny bit of effort. So hey ho, you want to make life difficult for yourself then carry on 'cause I'm out of the tyre conversations, I've tried to point out there is an easier way.
