My dads Alchemist power amps - that were never mass produced, only 6 were made to showcase speakers at Hi-fi shows. He has 2, one powering each of his speakers.

Martin Logan electro-static speakers - best sound I've heard in the last 15+ years.

And Kuota have a new aluminium which I'm realistically considering....

A season snowboarding in New Zealand, followed immediately after by another in Canada, followed immediately after that by a summer mtb-ing, also in Canada. That would do for me.

Onan - as it happens I have a brand new Kaffenback frame (size medium, no forks) sat in my garage doing nothing. It was a project that I changed my mind about and I ought to sell it. Feel free to PM me if that interests you!

I am glad to report that I am no longer lusting after and cannot afford a trip to Easter Island in July next year to view an eclipse.

I have now booked it, and decided to hell with the money.
To see the majesty of the most amazing sight in the natural word, a full on Total Solar Eclipse, with the backdrop of the remotest single island in the world and the huge carved heads is just something money can't buy (well, actually money has just bought it, but the gamble is for clear skies!!)

Eclipse is on the same day as the World Cup Final, 11th July 2010, and funnily enough Scotland not there, and as I will be in Chile, they will be my team of choice.

To be in the path of the shadow of darkness it truely awesome, it will be my fourth one....

Wasn't lusting after this, but I saw it and bought it anyway a couple of weeks ago. It's a lust-worthy beast.

Mine has pedals to make forward progress that bit easier.

Not the best small pic of an eclipse, but here is a better one...
Thing is, people say bet you can't wait, but as it is over so fast it is the anticipation that is superb. Yes, I CAN wait....

    +1 (!)

Bolivia, November 1994.. crystal clear skies, open desert landscape at ~4000m altitude (near Potosi). Wonderful sight!

My abiding memories are of the temperature dropping like a stone as the sun was obscured, and of the moon's shadow flying across the desert towards us at over 2000km/h....

We didn't go to South America to catch the eclipse, but when we found out it would be happening while we were there we made sure we wouldn't miss it!!

    Cheers,
    W.

Might I suggest a job you enjoy, as a surrogate? Working doesn't seem quite so intrusive if you're doing it for fun!

Pinarello Dogma :lol::lol: Sod getting my tooth sorted, when (if) the insurance payout from my off in the summer comes through I'll be hot footing it to my nearest Pinarello dealer with a wedge of cash burning a very large hole in my pocket.

I might even be tempted by a campy groupset and wheels

Not yet. Shoulder is very stiff. Seeing the consultant on the 30th and hopefully he'll have some good news! Hope you're healed up?

Top news. I'm slightly worried about how flipping unfit I'm gonna be by the time I get back on the bike. I may have to disguise myself for a month or so or the Embankment will be a scalp fest!

If you still have it in january, I may well be. At the moment it's just not possible at all.

Why did you change your mind by the way? What do you make of it in the flesh?

Or a folder (as CP will I'm sure agree). If it has a hinge or separates it has ridiculously high FCN. Even one of these:ChamUltima.jpg or
