Merlin Malt 4

Been up to Merlin this afternoon to collect my new Malt 4. Great bunch of guys up there and the Malt is spot on. Going to take it out for its first spin asap, just finished fitting my crud guards and helicopter tape to stop cable chaff.
Spec is:
Malt 4 frame,
Shimano SLX groupset,
Mavic 717 rims,
Rockshox Reba Team forks,
Race face evolve finishing kit.

Well i have done the first ride on it and i think its great. First time in years i have been on a hardtail so it took a while to get back into the swing of things, climbs great and has a good feel on descents, very agile. Going to trim the bars down a little bit and double check the fork settings tomorrow.0

I dont think i could have picked a better quality bike, its great value for money and the ride is fantastic 0 -

Managed to put a dent in the downtube during last nights ride

Rock pinged up down a very rocky trail and smacked the downtube.0

least it won't rust, that's some battle scar. maybe get some copter tape on it to stop it getting worse?0

I would be tempted to put some paint on it first. I have a little one to do on my frame always happens just after you get your new bike.0

Bought some Fox talas 100-120-1400 adjustable forks for the front of it. Hopefully it will improve the feel as it just does not inspire confidence over the rougher stuff i ride.0

The Malt has had a small spec change, its now got my Blurs old Hope Pro2's and 717's on.0
