Anyone tried them before?

What benefits/drawbacks does the slight treaded profile give over, say, a set of Pro Race 3's which are totally slick?
I've used the PR3's before but managed to get stone chips through both the front and the rear in one very very short ride (3 inner tubes and 2 tyres inside a mile and a half) Ended up doing the rest of the season on a pair of Bonty Hard Cases just because I didn't get round to getting anything new, didn't puncture any more though!
Cheers!

Tyre tread makes no difference to the level of grip - what will make a difference is whether you pump them up rock hard or not. FWIW on the last tow of our regular rides, the guy on Race-Lites has punctured 4 times whilst most others, typically on Krylions, GP 4 Seasons or Swalbe Stelvio Raceguards haven't punctured at all.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Cheers guys, I'll maybe give the P3R's another go, I think that day was just a case of truly terrible luck managing to get stone chips through both tyres.
Or maybe a set of Vittoria Open Corsa? How's that for a slice of fried gold?0
