I normally commute from high wycombe to slough and back most days..
However tommorow and Weds i will have to cycle back from slough and my normal route through burhnam and villages is unlit form 5-8 miles and is very very dark.
Anyone know any safe lit route?? Excluding the A355 which is to busy, fast and has a nasty set of hills which cant be tackled at speed in high fast moving single lane traffic safely.
Thanks

I can't think of any other routes which are fully lit, all seem to have unlit sections. I used to ride around there in the dark and it wasn't too bad as long as you had decent lights and some reflectivity. One thing I did do was to put one of those backup tiny lights on my helmet. My Dad saw me one day cycling home from work and said he saw the light flashing above the hedgerows long before he saw all my bright lights and reflectivity.
The most open road I can think of is the Maidenhead Cookham route as that is not under the cover of trees. It is a dogleg route though.Short hairy legged roadie FCN 4 or 5 in my baggies.
