Shouldn't there be a general vote first with a shortlist of those top five?

You're seriously suggesting there would be any others, other than these two, in the final?

DDD might be in for a should I suppose. Bhima and Freehub are miles ahead of the rest really though.

Different kinds of crazy, me thinks.

And to keep this positive, you've gotta love Will/Freehub - crazy or not.

I mean i'll call either of them on BS or general craziness, but it's different if they put it out there themselves...

What about that Sasquatchamecallit fellow and his hijack of the compact chainset thread. Pure brilliance.

Haha of course, that guy was stellar, but he was really only a one topic guy.

I kinda agree with this. I can't see anything positive or productive about picking people out for attention if they're not being a troll (they're fair game if they are though, IMO).

What about that Jez fella who would come on, post some rant about how he'd been ignored by someone in his previous cycling club, get himself banned, then come back on as his own alter-ego, pretending to be his own best mate saying how great he was at road racing. Or something. Then pulled out of the only 4th cat race he was in. Oh and didn't he used to go training with Eddy Merckx, Sean Kelly's cousin and Fausto Coppi's half-brother?

Well - that's what I understood from the drivel he used to write, anyway. He's gotta be in the mix for some sort of nuttiness award, at least for persistence.

I see what you're saying, but I think they've both got a sense of humour though. They're probably voting for themselves as I type.

They know we love them and their posts!

  • When procaliming himself to be a climber in the mould of Lucian Van Impe and saying he needed competition on the hills, i told Bhima i'd drag him round the Whitton route, by way of shaking realities hand... "definitely, i'll be in touch" was his answer, 3 months ago.

You're right though, I have a kind of softspot for him even though he drives me insane on here.

agreed - the great Jez Smith should be up there too - he's far more weird than Bhima and Will put together.... :)

Jezmo / Jez / Jez Smith x 1,000,000. Certainly on the Road section - I don't really visit Commuting.

As Markos points out an honourable mention to 'Sasquatchamecallit' who turned an innocent thread about Compacts into an all out war. Other than that we're quite lucky round here that we've not really got any persistent copper-bottommed, ocean-going, 24crt mentalists.

And him. In fact ignore my earlier post - this place is full of 'em innit? The 'Here's a picture of me surfing' thread was one of the funniest things I've ever read on here. Top respect to the bloke who subsequently posted a picture of Everest to 'prove' his mountaineering prowess.

Although from the way he mentioned it in near enough every post, he could have proved it by posting a picture of his driveway - 90% gradient and 4 miles long wasn't it? And don't forget he drives a BMW - v. important that.

Man he is so awesome. Whether it's half naked youtube pressups, surfing, having a long driveway, riding his bike at 16 mph (for up to 20 miles) or owning a BMW diesel, he manages it with ease.

Is there nothing he can't do?
  • The thing is, although Bhima may well laugh that we're conducting a poll as he does manage to take it on the chin occasionally, Freehub on the other hand will be utterly shocked that anything he's ever writen has been anything but serious and he just will not get it!
So based on that alone I know which way I'm voting.

I liked Surf Matts posts, he was demented. No one beats Bhima though, honey, bananas, cadence ponytails, he has it all.

Will is a bit of a lost soul at the moment though.
