Does anyone have one of these and if so what are they like, and would you know the top tube length.

Looking for a cheap alloy frame, for a reasonably light build

  • I have a 16" that I'm building up for the wife. The quality of the frame is excellent, it really is very nice in the flesh. Not weighed it but it's pretty light.

Merlin sell them on eBay with no reserve, got mine for about £60 delivered.

I'd be tempted to buy another in the 18" for myself, for no other reason than they are quite a bargain. I really fancy a white one.

Thanks, It was on Merlin that I saw them, would you be able to tell me the top tube size as I really don't like anything to short.

    Cheers :D

  • Sorry, missed your reply.

I'll try and remember to measure it up tonight. Bare in mind it's the 16" frame so I expect it'll be short.

Thanks for the info people I have found the measurements I was after and they seem like the frame would be fine.

So I have just ordered one :D

  • What spec you going to go with then?

Sorry I couldn't get the top tube length for you last night by the way (though you've sorted it already). We had a power cut and my good nature doesn't extend to clambering round the garage in the dark.

Looks great value. Can anyone describe the ride & does it take fat tyres (2.35s)?

Well Its here, and have to say It's a hell of a lot better then I thought It was going to be :D .

Trying to work out how they can do It so cheap, It looks like a frame that should be at least double the price It was.

    normal retail price is higher.

But the 707 is not that current and there are new models coming out.

    enjoy.

Hi mate, I've not been on here for years but saw your post on this. I bought a 20" 707 frame in white and i'm about to start building it up. Wouldn't mind seeing pics of yours to give me some ideas. I've got Thompson Elite post and Stem coming, Mavic Crossride/Hayes stroker disk combo coming. I was looking at the '09 SR Suntour Epicon RLD fork in white. Anyone got comments on them?

I got it from Merlins back in April before they flooded Ebay with them (Which wound me up a treat) Its white with red and black decals, looks very nice, light and seams to have added strenth in all the right places. Altho they do measure up small. My 20" is only 19.5" centre to Top. Will post some pics up of the frame if you like and as the build goes on (May take some time though as i'm out of work atm).
