brought a Cube LTD Team 2009 second hand that had some front end damage And Bottom crankset and gear cables could do with tidying up aswell, so decided to upgrade it, my only problem is I dont know if everything I have choosen is right or worth it..

So would really appreciate any advice...

SRAM Attack Trigger shifters

Nokon Gear cable set MTB/Hybrid (Gold colour although thats personal choice)

Easton EA70 XC Bars

Easton Havoc Oversized Stem

Shimano Deore Chainset M590 22,32,44

KMC X9 SL Chain Ti & Gold 9 Speed

thats it for now, accept for some grips but im yet to see some that fit the colours style I want..

Not sure you need a burly stem liek the Havoc. Everything else is in the ball park, make sure the shifters are compatible with the rear derailer.

Nokon cables are horrible, don't bother

have you got any suggestions for some decent cables, I was hoping that if I spent a bit more on them they would last a bit longer but if they are that bad I dont want to throw money down the sink either

reading the article it says they are suitable for shimano Sram My rear derailer is Shimano Deore XT Shadow so im guessing that puts them out then

    Shimano cables of some sort.

The Shifters are compatible but is there anything wrong with your current ones?

yes they hit a tree so the indicator is no longer there, and it looks quite messy, thats why I thought whiloe im fiixing it I might aswell try and upgrade slighlty where possible and where funds allow

If they're SLX you can remove the indicator anyway. If that's all that's damaged it might save you some effort.

    Shifters: Shimano Deore Rapidfire-Plus 9-f.

But its not just the indicator, cosmetically it looks rather bad, works fine, but being as its a second hand a bike I would really like to make it my own giving it a fresh look

I'd rather have SLX or XT shifters over the Attacks for the two way release, but it won't make a massive difference

just found the SLX shifters at £42 a pair and the look pretty decent.. so i will go with them.. Thanks for the heads up...
  • I'd go for slx shifter, exotic carbon bars and stem.

Cable wise, i'd recommend the transfil flying snakes, or the jagwire ones if you're running full outers.

Chain is good, i'd go for an SLX chainset from ribble.

I was looking at carbon bars but wasnt to sure of them...

is the SLX Chainset much better performance wise ? as cosmetically I am not to keen on it.

if the Flying snakes are as good as the reveiws I have just read then they are good value for money. shame they only come with black outters but I would rather reliability over looks..
