Are spokes unique?

A rear spoke broke this morning on my Mavic Aksiums

A quick google search threw these up, http://www.pedalon.co.uk/acatalog/copy_ ... spoke.html but they are out of stock.

So will any 302mm length spoke be OK?

It has to be a staight pull spoke to fit your wheels.
You need the genuine article really to get the right nipple shape to fit the hub

    Rubbish :x

I am never buying factory built wheels again.

    Thanks for the info anyway!

Any decent LBS should be able to get hold of Aksium spokes - they're hardly uncommon. FWIW the vast majority of bike shops don't stock a decent range of conventional spokes either - I generally have to buy them online.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I would say it has done around 5000 miles. It broke as I put some power down to get up a short hill.
