Would be nice for a cyclist who I've heard of to hold it again.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

i hope so, seeing Sosenka at the top of the list is just wrong.
  • Apparently FC did some tests* with a mind to doing the pursuit at Beijing, but didn't reproduce his road form on the track, so it might not be as straightforward as one might think - it would be fascinating to see him try though.

Muscling a bike around on the road isn't the same as being smooth on the track and ol' Spartacus isn't the smoothest rider in the world. I'd like to see him have a try, but I'd put my money on Bradley to have a crack.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Great news this. With all the silly bike positions, otherwise enhanced performances the last 15 years the hour record has lost a bit of its magic, also because the presumed greatest rider of all time during that period couldn't be bothered. A credible, big name cyclist regaining the hour would be great.

Wiggins might be too busy with his new found GT focus.

If Contador maintains his dominance I would hope he would have a go too (his current lack of interests for anything outside the TdF isn't too promising).
  • Apparently DZ said recently he also wanted to try:
"Yeah, it's crossed my mind. I haven't spent that much time on a track, but I don't think it's that difficult to make a turn. It's not something I'm targeting in the near future, but you never know."
    Contador is the Greatest

Or a good winter project for Geraint Thomas (assuming that track World Cup pursuit top gun stuff isn't keeping him too busy.)

I agree about the wrongness of Sosenka. Would love to see GT set the mark.
  • I read that Obree's given up on the idea of going for the hour record again, but looking at his bike I'm not surprised. Picture here.
