Built this bike up from my Rock Lobster Team TIG frame, the bike was a little too skittish for me, and wanting to keep a hardtail, i decided to go for a steel one. The 456 was such a good price, it's hard to ignore it. Ridden it for the 1st time today, and absolutely loved it.

Here's the spec:

Frame: New 456 steel frame, in pimpy brown
Forks: Rockshox reba Race
Bars: Race Face Deus XC
Stem: Race face Deus XC 90mm
Headset: FSA Orbit XLII
Grips: Sunline Thick Grips

Brakes: XT
Shifters: XT
Cables: XTR
Front Mech: XT
Rear Mech: XT

Seat: Charge Spoon
Seat Post: Race Face deus XC
Seat Post Clamp: Temp cheapo one!

Cranks: XT
Cassette: XT
Pedals: Shimano M545
Bottom Bracket: XT hollowtech

Wheel set: Mavic X717 built onto XT hubs
Tires: Panaracer Fire Xc pro

Weight: About 27lbs, haven't measured it accurately yet!

That's lovely and the colour is great too, make a change from the common as muck 'black' colour

Great spec on the bike too, what size frame and how much travel is the forks is? as it looked spot on in the pic.

    Well done :)

Forks are 100mm travel, i was considering removing the spacer to increase the travel, but i really don't think i need it. Frames 20" as I'm 6ft4.
  • that paint job is stunning! i reckon you should get a brown saddle to ice the cake
    It`s changed a bit since...

Brilliant, I bought one of the coffee/chocolate/poo* coloured frames but haven't built it up yet - very happy to see that it looks great!
