Are they worth it, if not, what do you recommend?

have on look on superstar components, they have some good looking, blingy, cheap headsets

thanks for the swift replies, its for my new build, its a white frame and black forks / wheels, carbon handle bars & seatpost, black stem.
So gold / silver would look silly do you think? the hopes black currently. Not much choice of colour i have to play with i know. The seat clamp is also black (wish salsa made the headsets really) haha

CK headsets seem to have problems with long travel forks.
Personal thoughts. overrated."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Again like above, i suspescted this may be the case when products get a cool color and a face next to the brand name.0 -

deep insert cups can cause problems on some frames
and you will need a headset press and a headset tool for removal.
any decent cartridge bearing headset will do fine.
Tbh just change the hope bearing if there is any problems with it."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Well to be honest, its only a bit scratched and works fine, just after the respray was going to get a new one.0

Nice bearings, but igven you can go to a bearing supplier and get them just as good for your existing headset (usually) for peanuts makes them seem very overpriced.0

I've had a CK, was ok, sealing wasn't that fantastic, grit could get between the cup and races so the headset felt rough.
Really impressed with my Hope headset, bought in 2003. Its been on 3 bikes, last serviced 3 years ago. Bike gets ridden 2 to 3 times a week in all weathers.Intense Socom

if you do go for a Chris King, get the Rasta, instantly recognisable as a Chris King. this place are really good, and cheap

I had a problem with my CK headset, I had to get the lower race out and get it sonic cleaned. Worked a treat though and it's fine now.0
