Not sure which section to post this in so I'll start here.

Is there any website that I can find out about old classic MTB's. A mate has an old mountain bike from the early 80's in very good original condition and he's interested in whether it's worth anything. It's a Dawes Ranger. I've had a quick search but not unearthed anything.

Thanks

I had one of those, the frame had to be replaced after a few weeks.

A year later replaced the frame again with a hand built from Covent Garden Cycles and it's still in my shed.

It had a list price of £419.95 in 86, Dawes advertised it in the first British mountain bike magazine Making Tracks.

In issue 4 they reviewed it under the title The Dawes (Oh So Long) Ranger, this was because it was a bit stretched out, bit like a Ritchey I saw last year from the same era.
Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"
