Avid Juicy 3 Lever Adjustment

Hi all,
I've searched the forum for an answer for this but cannot find anything. Sorry if I'm duplicating.
I realise I'm being stupid but I can't adjust the biting point on my Juicy 3's. I've been told by the dealer to adjust the alan key on the side of the lever to adjust (I want a quicker biting point at the moment I get half way to the grip without anything happening) The screw was set all the way in as standard and adjusting it out just increases the free travel before I get any bite. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you all
(I can service my car but I can't adjust my bike brakes - do I deserve to live?)

just use the brakes the pistons will settle down.
adjusting the lever away from the bars can help the pistons set sooner then adjust the lever to where you want.
But before doing any of this make sure the caliper is adjusted correctly and is not moving the disc."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Will do, they are new so will continue to bed them in and follow your instructions.
