Hola all.
I've just decided to take up road cycling after knee injuries stopped me playing football and the weights piling on. Ideal way for me to get fit again and less pressure on my poor knee.
Went to my LBS and while I know there is a cheaper way of doing it I put my faith in them as I haven't the foggiest idea where to start so there advice is helpful.
So far I've spent £1350 (I say spent but I pay on Tuesday) on bike, pedals, shoes, shorts and leg warmers. Deary me! Still got helmet and some other stuff to get so it's looking like £1500 in total before they do me any wee deals. Thank god xmas is coming up.
Have to say the LBS couldn't be more helpful and have spent a lot of time with me picking the stuff and fitting me for it etc but hopefully that's the spending over......for a wee while atleast

First year costs are usually around 2 grand for a new bike rider, what with the bike and all the bits and pieces you find you need.
Be warned though, after that it can get expensive.0
