I can't believe how many "winter" threads are appearing in the Training forum. I believe it doesn't start until 21st Dec...

I've been out at 7am the past few weeks and have been faced with this:

Is it just the South of England that's getting all the bad weather?

Although, there has been a bit of rain today, from 11am onwards. I've probably jynxed it now...

  • Look what you've done!!!! Lashing it down now in Manchester . :?

    Nice pictures though.
  • Just windy as hell up here at the moment. 50 miles felt like 100.

Swindon is under 2 feet of water.

Actually it isn't. But it should be

Absoloutly **** in city center, I'm hoping the weather will change for me to start riding again on Monday.

I know, I had no idea a few weeks ago...! :D

I must say - it has been raining a bit here and there in the past few weeks, but 7am seems to be the most consistently dry time of day for some reason. Great for riding. Cold though.
  • it was cyclo-cross on the towpath this morning... spend a significant chunk of time going sideways.

It's warmer by ~2.5 degrees in the city centre, so i'm sure this must affect the weather somehow. Up in the peaks, looking down at the MCR landscape, you can usually see a solid line where the weather/clouds radically change. When i've been out recently, i'll stay dry, up until the last 3 or so miles, as I get within the city centre's range... The difference is shocking sometimes.
  • Yesterday I tried to drag my bike out of the flat but it just looked at me balefully with those big round 700mm eyes that said ''you can go out and get soaked and blown out to the North Sea, but I'm staying here''.

But this morning, what a difference! Sunny, just a slight southerly breeze, people friendly as though yesterday's storms had purged them of all bad feelings, and there are people out there walking in shorts. 13 degrees and we're only 40 cycling days to Christmas.
  • Wanted to ride yesterday - It was pouring down and blowing a gale

Couldn't ride today my back was so bad - gorgeous weather

I did a nice 25 mile ride tonight, was windier than I thought, I thought there was no wind really, it's hard to believe in a day or 2 it'll be tipping it down again and windy :(
