And I'd got my best pair of dancing shoes out of the cupboard ready to go and join the queue at the grave...

Clicked on the topic and opened it in a new tab then opened a fresh one on the BBC news page to find the truth. Would have heard on the news or a news flash.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • They seem to be another nation of cat lovers, the Canadians. This is prime minister Stephen Harper:

I've always promised myself two days off work when she cocks her toes. One to get pi**sed and one to get over it. With any luck she'll die at a weekend or a bank holiday.

    +1 to all sentiments

In fact I think you might have to hire a venue to fit everyone in.

I always promised myself this - but now I can hardly raise a smidgen of bad feeling towards the old dear these days. Now I find myself idly hoping for a nasty end to Blair and all his evil minions.

The thing about Thatcher was that although she was evil, at least she said she was evil on the tin. Blair lied consistently throughout his term as leader and pm - and was just as much of a b*st*rd.

Besides - I think I got all the Thatch hate out of my system the day she was sacked as PM and the celebrations I had that night! 8)

Watching her slowly decline into terminal senility has been worth far more than any quick death she may have suffered 20 years ago. That and seeing how her son has turned out.
  • Hmmm, didn't think of it before, but a great idea for a suprise party (whenever it happens).

being the son of a barnsley miner i will be also at the party with bells on.

Lambeth NALGO was linked with Barnsley NUM and I recall a very boozy evening with some miners at the Town Hall Social Club. One of my treasured possessions is a miniature miners lamp they gave me.
Who knows I might have met your dad.

    Coal not dole!

13 - 14 years of age saw me eating at the soup kitchen at Doncaster Road School.

    Rot for me.

I don't Wish her dead" I just take great satisfaction in the fact that one day she will be, and I just hope I'm still alive to know about it.

There are so many people who want to dance on her grave that they'll have to bury her under Ministry of Sound.

  • theres a lot of anger here and some strong statements. To think i got censured for commenting on our one eyed warmongering lying prime minister,

She was right for Britain, breaking the damaging influence of militant unions. Even the Poll tax was fair in theory though unpopular in practice. Ill have a drink when she dies, a toast to all the positive stuff she did. Love her or loather her she was a leader which is something we need now.

I can't believe she still has supporters, so much of what is wong in the Uk goes back to her period in office.
Were you around then or born after? Not asked in a pejorative way but just interested.

And Thatcher was a 2 eyed war-mongering lying prime minister - are you prejudiced against disabled people?
She was right for Britain, breaking the damaging influence of militant unions.
most people depended on the unions for a fair pay, and decent working conditions, on that basis she actually described most working Britons as the enemy within, which was nice. They also acted as a block to the full on crooked "free-market" practices which have landed the world in the mess it is in now...

I'd love to hear how a flat tax on rich and poor alike was in any way fair. :?

Are you aware that it was Tory policy that allowed the Falklands to be invaded in the first place?

And you say 'peacemongers' like its a bad thing. :?
