Confession: Noisy brakes

Now, I usually pride myself on my bikes always being in tip top running condition. Always rolling, shifting and stopping as well as they can.

So I must confess. It is fine in dry weather, but with the rain every stop is accompanied by the most awful noises. The Pig squeals like a, er ... pig, .. when braking in the wet. It embarrases me so.

  • Mine do too - useful as an alert to peds I think.

Doesn't embarrass that much but better now as it used to be both - now its just the rear that squeals like a piggy...

Yep, mine were as noisy as f*** last night in the rain but it's easy than trying to ring the crappy little bell. It never bothers me really - I used to run a car that did the occasional track day and had carbon-metallic brake pads: when they were cold (which was pretty much anywhere round town) people could hear me braking a few hundred yards away :)

Glass half full approach, I like it. In that case I shall squeal with pride!

Skidding is almost silent in the wet.

    Until the crunch.
