Anything weird happen to you today?

I had woman step out in front of me, and car pull out with no indicator or lights on.
I know not unusual for you London guys, but unusual in Glasgow at 7.20 this morning.

on the train this morning, I put a couple of pushy feckers in their place by giving no quarter.. One even said "After you then" after sneaking round the side and trying to push past me, I replied "that's big of you thanks" it probably came out more as a grunt as I was trying to block out the crowd with my music; Pig Destroyer were helping me feel happy.

@ CP - How does anyone have the nerve to TRY to push past you given your diminutive stature

Even Stevens then. Remind me to 'borrow' you when I need to move in a crowd. I tend to get hurled to the side, stepped on/over, deemed invisible.................... :(

I got told by the physio yesterday that I can start running again.

Today I jogged across the road at Tower Bridge and my knee started to hurt.

Change of weather caused that. Try again tomorrow or Sunday.

Some poor girl cyclist in Chelsea is lamenting how I totally cut her up. In my defence, she'd moved to the right of the road at a major right turn, which I also wanted, so I pulled up to her left.

As the lights changed, I started turning then noticed she was going straight on. No crash or anything, but I'll wager she was unimpressed. As was I - until I remembered there is a second, smaller right turn immediately after the one I took, and the only place to be to take it is where she was waiting. Oops.

    Nothing :)

I feel left out. Although the day hasn't finished yet and I'm supposed to go to a relatives house to try and fix their computer. Oh god how could I have scheduled that for Friday the 13th. PC repairs are bad enough at the best of times.

I had a relapse. After years of being a lazy bugger thanks to flexi time, the last few weeks I've been getting out of bed early and getting to work early and felt great for it. This morning it was back to continually re-setting the alarm until I couldn't put it off any longer. Still, it doesn't matter cos I've got loads of flexi time banked :P
  • roof started leaking last night and apparently we're in for a monoon, woooo bucket ready in the loft

blistered my heel walking the dogs.

but on the upside, new digibox and not at work.

So on top of a visit to the tarmac via the spare wheel of an izuzu:

mech hanger is bent, go to the LBS, they don't have one
    get soaked walking back
phone now has water ingress and isn't working.

    Fantastic.

My biggest project of the year just got delayed by a week. Plus side is that I don't have to work this weekend. The downside is that I'll have to be in the office next week instead :(

  • Ooooh I hadn't even realised! Cycled in this AM, will be cycling home too, with that lady Eilidh's ghost bike a poignant reminder that I'm not cycling through a great area of London for cycling...

    Engage spidey sense...
  • Nothing much yet. Got beasted on the lunchtime run as it was circuits of a hilly field and my thighs are still coming to terms with cycling. Using them once for cycling and once for hills per week seems to be too much. Oh, and this cycling lark has somehow aggravated my right hip, which isn't going away because I keep running on it.

No doubt I will be in a queue of traffic on the M4 going through Newport though, if that counts as "bad luck".
  • Found out today that the 2 storey extension that was on the house when we bought it,has NO completion certificate and we can't sell until we have one.

This is right as we want to Exchange contracts. I have the contract here to sign.

Apparently the utter utter utter feckless layabouts pretending to be Conveyancing solicitors for when we bought the place overlooked this 'minor' point.

  • I feel your pain Keiran. Moving house is almost always a bitch. The same thing happened to us - our dream house went off the market because someone put a better offer in just after we did (this after the house had been on the market for nearly a year with no offers). 2 months later, house was back on the market as the buyers hadn't even had a survey done yet. So the house was eventually ours. Fingers crossed!
