Due to a cracked frame on my old one my Insurance Co are footing a new frame. I guess they'll give me £1000 to replace the current one, just looking for some recommendations - ideally with forks.

More importantly, what do you want to use it for? Consider that most of the frames in this price bracket all come from a handful of big sheds in Taiwan, don't get overly hung-up about brands and for many you just pay a premium for the sticker, not the quality of the product.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Its to be used for day to day training for a trip out to Alpe D'Huez next year. Dont mind paying a bit extra for a posh sticker, I know its vain but I also think the aftersales are better with the bigger companies.
Currently thinking of heading towards Trek, Cannondale or Cervelo although at the moment the insurance company are due to call with a replacement model they think is best !!0 -
So share with us your bountiful knowledge to the contrary? Find me a sub-£1000 carbon frame that doesn't come from the far east.
I don't doubt that this is true, the old chestnut is that they are either rubbish or all the same. Until recently they made Porsches and Ladas in the same factory but I think you were paying for a bit more than a badge.0 -
