Rockshox Totem Coil troubles

Hi Guy's
I recently purchased some Rockshox Totem Coils. They were on sale, reduced from £700 to £359. They are early '08's.
Anyway, after 2 rides they started leaking oil from the Compression knob. Searching the web this seems to be a bit of a fault. Spoke to the shop and they said send them back and we'll get them off to the UK Service Centre.
Forks come back and basically the blue compression knob had not been tightened at all and the silver compression knob was only finger tight. The blue compression knob had also lost it's click when you turn it. Another thing I noticed was that turning the compression knobs seemed to make no difference to the compression when you push down on the fork. I'm sure when I first got them there was a noticeable difference...
So, sends them off again. This time they come back with the rebound cap missing and the compression still not making any difference.
Am I right in thinking that there should be a noticeable difference when adjusting the compression and pushing down on the fork?
Cheers.
Aaron.

Where the hell you sending them off to...???
I should try MOJO or better yet, TF Tuned. Good guys.
Anyhow, yes, your fork should be complete, not missing bits...
And YES, adjusting the fork's rebound and compression, AND high and low speed R&C, there should be a difference. Adjust them to both their extremes - one should be like a pogo setting, the other will be VERY difficult to compress, and extend VERY slowly...
I think whoever you are sending it to, is forwarding it on to the local zoo to have the gorrilas work on it!!!Boo-yah mofo
Sick to the power of rad
Fix it 'till it's broke0 -

LoL
Basically I got them from Merlin's and they have to send them back to Fisher who are the UK Service Centre for RS. I would love them to go to TF but they have to go to Fisher under warranty. I've had them less thn 2 months and only 2 easy rides before they leaked.
Thanks for clarifying how the fork should feel at different settings. I knew I wasn't going mad.
Gonna email Merlin again today and suggest a replacement or refund.BiGRUD0 -

What on earth are you on about? Mojo are the Fox Racing Shox distributor and service agent. They don't deal with anything else.

If you are unhappy with the workmanship of your warranty repair, you need to contact Fishers and explain the problem. If it's just a case of tightening a bolt slightly, they may be able to guide you through it without you packing your fork off to them again. If not, they can arrange to collect the fork.
Fishers are fairly competent with warranty problems, as you would imagine they would need to be, given that they are the Rockshox distributor.0 -
Sounds like someone isn't doing their job very well in servicing the forks that sounds very poor for a warranty service and hopefully not a common issue.
All rockshox forks from the past few years have had slight problems with leaking from the compression, it can be fixed by using a better/bigger washer and some folk have used plumbers tape to keep the gap all sealed. Apparantly TF have a fix for the leaking when they service them.
Compression setting should make a difference yes, my mates domains are a simple compression knob without the lockout and you can feel the difference between one extreme and the other.0
