i've always thought they drive like d.icks!!!
one of my mates drives one...nice bloke, until he gets in his car.....
one of the lads i work with has a thing against ford focus drivers for some random reason.. :shock:0 -
Shows they aren't too bad as off roaders though.
X5 drivers are in a class of their own.
Audi drivers are the new cocks of the road although 90% of BMW drivers are cack.
But nothing else does what my BMW (335d) does so I had to ignore the badge. I;m just about coping with the horrors of a near 300bhp, 428lbs/ft car that is also practical and not bad on fuel either0 -
"But nothing else does what my BMW (335d) does"
In what way?0 -
Let's face it, whatever car the businessmen prefer to have as their company cars is what will be driven badly out on the roads.
(should I be concerned about the amount of people on here who have very expensive bikes and therefore good jobs and probably company cars?)

I just said in what way.
Nothing is so fast yet also practical. It beats a 335i and many very quick cars around a track, it beats standard 911s for overtaking punch, handles amazingly well yet returns over 35mpg and has low emissions, fits loads of gear in the back and seats five comfortably and still looks subtle.
That's unique.
The bad BMW drivers are usually the ones in small engined repmobiles thinking they have "made it" as they tailgate in their 120d/320ds.0 -
No, you printed some figures that many other models are superior to.0
-
hahah thats good, only how my mum parks the skoda though0
-
Name them then,
They need:
Over 428lbs/ft of torque and 286bhp (most 335ds that have been dyno'd have been over 300bhp standard)
Be able to get to 60 in under 5.6s and 100 in under 13.3s
Do over 160mph
Return over 35mpg
Have emissions under 180g/km
Be RWD or 4WD
Be able to fit a load of clobber in the back.
Handle well.
You are going to struggle.
A lot.0 -

LOL. Fanboi warning!!!!!0 -
No - truthboy actually.
I use facts, not BS hearsay.0 -
Oh, so now you add more figures and some subjectivity. It may be calss leading in some areas, but not all. You could say the same about many cars.0

Is any car class leading in all areas? No.
The 335d is class leading in enough areas to make it unique.0 -
You originally said:But nothing else does what my BMW (335d) does so I had to ignore the badge. I;m just about coping with the horrors of a near 300bhp, 428lbs/ft car that is also practical and not bad on fuel either
You had to change your list of requirements as there are plenty that reach those!0 -

Please list them then.
They must be estate cars of course.0 -
And they have to be green.0
-
And have shiny wheels0
-
Lol, so I need to produce a list of cars with over 286bhp and 428lb.ft of torque, practical and 'not bad' on fuel?!
And now an estate. Anything else? Price? Furry dice?!0 -
Hang on a minute - you said plenty of cars fit the original criteria (which I expanded on when you questioned me) but you don't actually know any that do? And are now crying "foul" as well? I suggest sticking to bikes and not cars. And don't try being a lawyer. Or anyone that needs to engage in any form of friendly but factual discussion.
Okay then, ditch the estate category (seeing as mine is an estate I thought I might be allowed to include that) and give me a list. With or without furry dice.0 -
There are plenty of performance cars that have more power and torque than yours! That was what you originally alluded to and had to quickly back pedal when you realised that many do beat it!
"I suggest sticking to bikes and not cars. And don't try being a lawyer. Or anyone that needs to engage in any form of friendly but factual discussion."
And I suggest you do not insult people. It is you who is going back and forth between the requirements as you asked me to produce cars in the first list again, but still with a caveat, (now removed) which puts us back to the start! I was quite happy with your new list, and pointed out it was class leading in areas (but not all), but still challenged me to your original list! Why?0 -
I'd prefer a Merc personally. Or a Lotus Europa. Or an Audi.0
