norwich mtb?
i am thinking of going to university in norwich, does anybody know if there are many mtb routes/trails/jumps in the norwich area. i know the land is pretty much flat, but i am just curious. (this will by no means effect if i choose to go there or elsewhere)

There's an "Unofficial" one on Mousehold Heath.
Mousehold is about a mile (ish) north of the Train Station.
Frequented mostly by student types on DJ bikes, so you'll feel right at home.
Oh... And it's NOT flat.
A fair way from the UEA (Earlham) though.
Thetford is approx 3/4 hour away by car if you've got/can arrange transport.0 -
thanks, sounds great. i am going to nuca not uea bun i aint exactly sure where it is. i looked at thetford forrest, is there a rail link close by?0

Ah right, I just assumed UEA.
NUCA is spread over the city on various sites, there's about 5 or 6 different locations I think. The main building is on Redwell Street, about 100yds from Anglia TV, so pretty much in the city centre.
The course you're doing will obviously determine which part you'll be based in, but they're all pretty much in the same area.
If you can get digs around this area it's not too far from Mousehold, or the train station.
You'll like it in Norwich, it's an ace city.
Loads of nightlife along Riverside and Prince of Wales Road, (although PWR has a bit of a reputation).
And... Yes, there is a train link to Thetford.
It's on the Norwich - Cambridge line, but you need to get off at Brandon (the station after Thetford), then it's just a few minutes cycle to the forest.0 -
I'm based in Norwich - a handful of us go up to Thetford some weekends in a mate's car. Throw in a couple of quid for petrol and you'd be more than welcome. Always nice to have new people to ride with.
We're all in our mid-late twenties, and average-fast.0 -
I would warn of going to Mousehold at the moment. The Opposite side to Zaks next to the Fountain ground is permitted however Giolman road is not and the natives are getting quite nasty!!0
