I have sen them mentioned a few times on here, and the prices are amazing and would do me just right as I am thinking of replacing the Pinnacle for something with rear disk mounts. The talisman would probably be best as I have decided riding rigid is what I prefer and steel is probably a good idea with this in mind.
Has anyone managed to get anymore details from ATC regading the frames? as the level of spec on the shop is terrible. Would be insteresting to see pictures of the XC01 in the different colours too (black and silver) as they only show the red.

I was looking to buy a HT frame to build up a nice bike for a mates son. Sent 2 emails to All Terrain after some info on sizes and colours still waiting for a reply after 3 weeks.
I sent an email to Dirty Jo bikes asking same questions about there Semi Creme frame got an answer next morning
Have a guess which frame I boughtFig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -

Thats an old old old pic of my old old old bikes.. the Silver one is the Handsome Dog XC01.. hope that helps?
(That's a 16" frame btw.. I'm 6ft, it was a bit small, but I liked a slightly smaller frame back then).0 -
I also sent an email to All Terrain cycles a few weeks back - no reply. Wanted to get their advice on whether to go for a 20" or 22" frame - I'm 6'4" and normally ride a 21". They are cheap though!0

I bet she is. Sorry I couldn't resist. They're great value for money, very 'Old Skool' - I'd just be concerned about how or where they were manufactured.0 -
Stav83 So you got a mini-review on it for me? (no worries if you can't remember)
Cheers for the responses guys, the Dirty Joe frame looks awesome though, so now I am torn between saving money or going for asthetics (has never been my style, ever since my face refused to look nice :P )
Definatly food for thought!0 -
I used to have a Handsome Dog XC01, for a while. It was ok but I never really got on with it, it was a bit too small for me which didn't help. The frame looked very nice when it was new, a lot better than on the website, so I was pleased with that, but the paintwork wasn't too superb, it chiped quite easily. I ended up selling the frame. I have some pictures of the frame which I will post on here when i get home (work computer won't let me go on photobucket). If you want to know anything else about the frame let me know.- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0

Cheers Hoathy, that would be great!0 -
Haha, it was a while ago.. what do you want to know?!
I can remember that it ended up being pretty light (at the time, but can't for the life of me remeber the exact weight), and felt very nimble.. I did take it DJ'ing occasionally when the other bike was in need of repair, and it held up to that, although didn't like it much.. :?
But, I'd happily say that it could take on the majority of trail/xc stuff, I used to go over the Surrey Hills on it and it never let me down..for the price, you seriously can't go wrong mate. I really enjoyed that bike when I had it.
Angles felt alright, I'd say it'd be happy up to 120mm, 130 at a push.
Hope that helps, if you want to know anything else, ask, I'll see what I can remember mate.0 -
A firend of mine bought a Sintesi from Merlin a little while ago. It is a lot nicer than my XC01 was. They are £79.99. It is a good frame - just geo details are lacking!0
-
some images for you:
geometry wise the top tube is super short, my frame was an 18", and the top tube was inches shorter than the nearest-to-hand comparible frame, which was my dad's 2003 Cindercone (size 18" also). It was even shorter than my dad' Merlin Steel Tange Frame (17")- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0 -

Indeed, I am used to a long top tube so would like to keep it long if possible. I wonder if they realise all of the custom that they are losing through no answering queries?0 -
email them a link to the thread !Timmo.

to be fair, if they sent you the info about the geometry, you would know how weird it is and not buy one!?!- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0
